Fall River County extends sincere condolences to the family and friends of four North Carolina crewmembers of a C-130 airplane that crashed while fighting the White Draw Fire near Edgemont. Lost in the crash on July 1, 2012, were Lt. Col. Paul K. Mikeal, 42, of Mooresville, NC; Maj. Joseph M. McCormick, 36, of Belmont, NC; Maj. Ryan S. David, 35, of Boone, NC, and Senior Master Sgt. Robert S. Cannon, 50, of Charlotte, NC. Two additional crewmembers were injured.
The Commission and residents of Fall River County appreciate the service and sacrifice of all the crewmembers beyond expression. To those injured, we hope for speedy recoveries; to those who lost their loved ones, we extend our gratitude and deepest sympathy.
