Register of Deeds Administrative Assistant: Fall River County Register of Deeds Office is accepting applications for a Full-Time Administrative Assistant with possible advancement to Deputy after a 6-month satisfactory probationary period. Starting wage: $12.00 – $14.00 depending on experience. Includes benefit package: paid health, vision, and dental insurance, vacation, sick and personal leave, and South Dakota Retirement.

This position is responsible for performing a variety of office and administrative support duties associated with the recording of legal documents. Attention to detail is required. Applicant must have good organizational and computer skills and experience in customer service and good public relations skills. Duties include assisting customers, processing vital records, providing information and guidance, reviewing and recording various legal documents, receiving and processing payments, answering phone calls, and providing assistance with recording requirements and filing fees. Knowledge of real estate legal descriptions is preferred but not required. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.

Assistant Emergency Manager (Part-time): The Fall River County Emergency Manager is accepting applications for an assistant. Duties will include writing reports, data gathering, resource tracking, answering phones, attending meetings, taking and processing minutes, attending training on subjects pertaining to emergency management.  Should have a good working knowledge of computers, Microsoft word, excel, and publisher, ability to work with individuals under stress or irritation. Ability to work in all kinds of weather and under varying, sometimes dangerous, conditions. Must have a valid South Dakota Driver’s license. $14/hour starting wage. Open until filled. 24/7 Technician (Part-time): The Fall River County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for the 24/7 Tech position. Duties include administering PBTs and UAs, data entry into computer system.  Hours are 5:30PM -7:30PM Saturday and Sunday, hours may be increased based on scheduling needs. Starting Wage: $13.00/hour, no benefits. Deputy Sheriff: The Fall River County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for a county deputy. Candidates must be able to think and act quickly under pressure; remain calm in stressful situations; demonstrate ethical behavior; pass a background and drug test; be physically able to perform job functions.

Starting wage is $16.50-$20.50/hour DOE. 911 Dispatcher: Fall River County Sheriffs Office is accepting applications for full-time 911 Dispatchers. The starting wage: $16.00/hour. Shifts are day, evening, and overnight, and include weekends and holidays. Benefits include paid health, vision and dental insurance; vacation, sick and personal leave and South Dakota State Retirement.

The position involves substantial public contact, receiving incoming radio and phone calls, and entering information into the computer-aided dispatch system.  Individuals must be able to multi-task with accurate typing (35 words per minute) and computer skills. This facility handles multiple calls from different agencies which will need to be dispatched out simultaneously. Applicants must be able to remain calm and maintain composure and treat people with respect even under pressure in stressful situations. Individuals must possess the ability to consistently think clearly; act quickly; and calmly in a wide variety of situations.

The position requires SD State Certification for radio dispatching. The training, completed in Pierre, SD will be provided to successful applicants.  Position requires a medical physical (UA and hearing test), fingerprinting and background check.
