Fire – July 22nd to 24th

Monday July 24th – Chilson Fire 4 miles south of Minnekahta Junction is currently listed at 10 acres, State and local crews are on scene

Saturday July 22nd – Negabauer Fire 3  miles north of Ardmore burned 36 acres, it is out.

 

Employment Opportunity: 24/7 Tech

24/7 Tech (part-time): The Fall River County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for two 24/7 Tech positions. Duties include administering PBTs and UAs, data entry into computer system.  Hours are early morning and early evening. Starting Wage: $13.00/hour, no benefits. See employment page for application.  Open until filled.

Fires – July 2nd

The Brady Fire is ongoing, fire is 172 acres.  State crews are still on scene. Fire is putting up some smoke.

The Downen Fire along SD Highway 79 is out, fire was  .25 acres.

The Provo Fire south of Provo is out, fire was 18.59 acres.

The Camp Creek Fire located 12 miles west of Ardmore  is out, fire was 17.9 acres.

The Skinny Fire located 10 miles west of Ardmore is out, fire was 0.5 acres.

 

Fires – June 29th

There have been four fire so far today in Fall River County.

The Mickelson Trail Fire northeast of the Chilson Bridge has been put out. This fire was less than an acre.

The Cedar Fire is burning north of the Wild Horse Sanctuary, crews are on scene.

The Rocky Fire is located a mile south of Highway 18 in Minnekahta Valley, crews are on scene.

There is a new fire between Indian Canyon Rd and Rocky Ford Rd, located on the north side of the Cheyenne River. Crews are on scene, some residence in the Indian Canyon Fire area are being told to prepare for possible evacuation.

UPDATE (6/30/2017 8:40am):  The Cedar and Rocky Fires have been contained.  The fire off Indian Canyon Rd has been named the Brady Fire and is now estimated at 95 acres, there are federal, state, and local crews on scene.
