Update 8/12/2025: Buck Fire was recorded as 58.9 acres this morning by Great Plains Dispatch. The fire is burning on a combination of private and Forest Service lands. It is in the same area as the Falls Canyon Fire of 2012. It is still miles from the nearest structure.
Original Post: The Buck Fire began in the afternoon of Sunday, August 10th, 2025. It is burning in a remote area of Fall River County. There is no road access and crews had to hike into the area through rugged terrain. The morning report for Monday, August 11th from Great Plains Dispatch gave the size as 45 acres. There are no structures threatened and no evacuations.
